What You Have

  • The ability to read and understand all details of Banquet Event Orders, including start time and beverage requirements.
  • The desire to greet all guests in a positive manner.
  • The willingness to quickly and efficiently handle all guest requests.
  • The drive to maintain our banquet event areas in a clean and neat manner. Monitor guest's need on a continual basis ensuring all requests will be promptly fulfilled.
  • To guide the guest through all phases of their experience in the banquet or event.
  • Sets up, monitors, refreshes and breaks down coffee breaks, receptions and buffet tables for specific group functions.
  • Effectively communicates with the kitchen, catering coordinators and banquet staff.
  • Assist other event personnel with maintenance (side work, opening, closing duties) as necessary.
  • Efficiently communicate any challenges, guest complaints or requests to the Event Captain.
  • Must adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to insure all laws are being followed.
  • Perform other related duties that may be assigned by Event Captain/supervisor/manager.

Qualifications

    • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude
    • Willingness to learn new concepts and ideas
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
    • Basic knowledge of fine dining and good knowledge of wines/beverages
    • Interact with all levels of customers and hotel management
    • Strong customer service skills and the ability to resolve customer issues or complaints

Working Conditions

This position operates in event spaces, and restaurant settings. This position requires evening/weekend work and some work outdoors. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required.


Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching. The position may require occasional lifting of products weighing up to 30 pounds.
