Job Purpose

The Group Sales Manager will be responsible for the development of group market segments and solicitation of new group clients while maintaining existing relationships.  The Group Sales Manager should maximize review and effectively negotiate guest room and meeting space rentals/F&B minimums. This role is responsible for month-end reporting and tracking of account production. This position reports directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing.

The Group Sales Manager must display effective listening and communication skills, initiative, exercise good judgment and discretion, effective problem-solving skills, and display creativity and ingenuity while providing maximum exposure for our hotel and its offerings.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Group Sales Manager is responsible for prospecting & developing new business, increasing sales while following and supporting established sales policies, practices and procedures
  • Solicit on site, over the phone and in off property visits increase new business accounts
  • Meet and exceed REVPAR standards for designated Sales segment
  • Cultivate and foster professional relationships with customers, key third party vendors, local businesses, community organizations and leaders as well as prospective business partners both locally, nationally and internationally
  • Increase market share based on sales strategies
  • Participate in Sales coverage as needed
  • Address and resolve guest service and billing complaints by providing solutions in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Keep abreast of latest trends in hotel, hospitality, sales, marketing, and spa services and leverage information into strategic sales initiatives
  • Demonstrate eloquent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a flexible schedule including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Other Duties as assigned.

  • Associates degree required.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in Hospitality Sales, Marketing or Revenue Management.
  • Solid working knowledge of corporate, group and leisure segments.
  • Proven track record of selling skills with good results and meeting/exceeding goals.
  • Have excellent people skills.
  • Have flawless ethics and practices.
  • Previous experience in Opera & Delphi a plus.
  • Be physically able to perform the duties required  


Working Conditions

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position may require evening and weekend work, working outdoors, working with challenging clients, and minimal travel.
