The Banquet set up staff are charged with physically setting up rooms and event spaces for meetings, banquets, functions and events. 

 

Position Duties

Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Setting up chairs, tables, food stations, decorations, equipment for the successful operations of events
  • Maximizing guest satisfaction on every level.
  • Preparing rooms for functions, as needed
  • Perform other related duties that may be assigned by Management.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience working with banquet set up, preferably in a high volume banquet or hotel environment.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers and management.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to resolve customer issues or complaints.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and public holidays.
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of food, food ingredients, food prep methods, proper food storage, sanitation requirements and basic bar terminology.
  • Ability to be able to operate the following: coffee machine, hot box, soda dispenser, Bain Maries, beer taps and related equipment.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull a minimum of 50lbs.
  • Ability to use moderately complex computer software.

Part-time weekends, 25-30 hours per week.
