The Edgewater is a four diamond hotel and member of the Historic Hotels of America. With 202 guest rooms, 3 full service restaurants, day spa, fitness center and dock, this property sits directly on the shores of beautiful Lake Mendota. 

 

Position Description:

 

The Massage Therapist will perform various modalities of massage and use techniques on spa guests which involve the practice of massage to address the soft tissue of the human body, including muscles, tendons, and ligaments that will enhance relaxation and wellbeing. They will also use techniques such as muscle stretching that will assist in the recovery and to enhance muscle performance.  The Edgewater demands the highest quality of customer service and the Massage Therapist position reflects that in interaction with the spa guests both in and out of massage treatments.

 

Position Duties:

 

Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Reviewing the client questionnaire, and decide best approach to each client treatment based on their desired outcome and needs
  • Client orientation, escorting clients throughout various areas of the spa and fitness center
  • Perform various types of massage in the spa and at various functions
  • Perform regular comfort checks with spa guests while performing treatments
  • Perform many massages each day and be on time with the designated treatment time and turnaround time
  • Conducts appropriate check-in and checkout therapy room procedures i.e. linen change, product replenishment and general cleaning
  • Achieve service and retail objectives
  • Maintain client wellness checks and identify appropriate services and home care regimes
  • Assist in spa attendant responsibilities
  • Perform duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must at minimum specialize in the following massage techniques: Remedial, Deep Tissue and Swedish
  • Minimum two years clinical experience preferably in a luxury day spa environment
  • Must have completed 600 hours in an approved school in accordance with state law
  • Must hold and maintain required license in accordance with state law
  • Be physically able to perform the duties required
  • Possess a caring, positive attitude and genuine interest in helping clients
  • Be able to work in a team environment
  • Have excellent people skills
  • Meet/exceed customer expectations
  • Meet grooming standards and demonstrate flawless hygiene ethics and practices
  • Have a flexible schedule including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

 

 

 

If Employee is accused of any act involving moral or ethical issues under any law, or any act which casts an unfavorable light upon the association with The Edgewater, any of its affiliate's/ subsidiaries' or employee is accused of performing or committing any act which would could adversely impact The Edgewater, any of its affiliate's events, programs, services, or reputation, or  degrades Employee in the community or which brings Employee into public disrepute, contempt, or scandal, The Edgewater shall have the right to terminate employment.  The determination of whether and to what extent offense's impact shall be made by The Edgewater at its sole discretion whether or not information in regard to information thereto becomes public.
